Welcome
Located approximately 25 miles north of San Diego, Rancho Santa Fe was originally a Mexican land grant called Rancho San Dieguito. The land, approximately 8,000 acres, was granted to Juan Maria Osuna in 1845 when California was a Mexican provenance.
Today, Rancho Santa Fe is a covenant governed planned community. It received California’s highest historical recognition in 1989 when it was listed as California’s historical landmark #982.
Rancho Santa Fe is known as an equestrian community and Fairbanks upholds this reputation. Its 17 acre equestrian facility includes paddocks, wash racks, hot walkers, turnout rings and equestrian’s rings for the residents use. This was selected as the site for the 1984 Olympic equestrian competition.
